Many Yorkie owners do not realize that many Yorkie tricks are actually good for your dog and improve the obedience of your pet. One of the more common tricks your Yorkie puppy learns to do is the "under-arm roll." Many Yorkie breeders teach their puppies how to do this before they leave the breeders' home, but if you want to help your puppy master this trick before leaving you have to teach it yourself. Simply roll a ball under your dog's arms under his belly then let it fall forward and away from him. When he gets the underarm roll press his belly against the ball to make sure he gets the trick and praise him. The best thing to do is take turns doing this so that he is sure he gets it each time.Another of many Yorkie tricks that can help you train your dog is the "come" command. Most Yorkies tend to jump when given the command to "come," so you will want to train your dog to sit before trying this trick. To teach your dog to sit you need to stand a few feet away from your dog with treats in your hand. Speak quietly to your dog while you hold the treats in front of his nose so he learns to follow your command.Remember that learning Yorkie tricks is not hard to do, but that you need to be patient because your dog is going to have a bit of a learning curve. Also keep in mind that you should not just keep teaching your dog new things for no reason, you should always be complimenting his progress. Once you get the hang of your Yorkie you will start to notice some improvements in his obedience, and soon you will have a highly trained dog that obeys you and others. So start today and start training your dog so he can please you for years to come.
